Gary Harper established himself at a very young age as one of the best up and coming blues guitarists in Britain. His technique, energy and mature song writing, accompanied by his being so young, stirred up some real interest in the early days of his blues playing career. Whilst in his first band New Blood, Gary experimented with different styles of blues and different methods of song writing. This became an integral part of shaping Gary's own unique brand of the music he loved.

While taking a step away from the blues for some years developed Gary's style and song writing, it also led him back to where he feels he belongs, to a place in his career he would call 'home': The Blues! Drawing influence from Jimi Hendrix, Cream, and Freddie King (amongst many others) Gary has begun to fashion his modern day style of the blues. His music incorporates sometimes frantic and sometimes subtle guitar solos, with an ever present sense of melody, and carefully crafted song writing. To sum up Gary has it all: Great songs, great presence and unquestionable talent!

To complete the line up of the band Gary is joined by two good friends: Carl Lewis on the Drums and Russ Cook on Bass. Both guys are no stranger to the blues and music in general. Carl has toured extensively with numerous bands across the UK and Europe, including some dates on the road with Larry Miller and his own musical venture Lukash. His style and technique do nothing but accentuate everything Gary sings and plays, and as a result the power is astounding! Russ has played alongside Gary for around eight years now, in both New Blood and other projects including AfterView. As a result, together, the pair has an intuitive understanding of each other, making their performances together flawless and effortless.

The Gary Harper Blues Band with its talent in Gary, and impeccable rhythm section are a force that will hit the blues scene hard in 2009! Keep your eyes peeled and ears at the ready. It's gonna be loud and it's gonna be great!!!
